* feat(filters): dynamic filter framework — typed schema, URL state, FilterBar
Port of dflow's filter.utils pattern, adapted to Containr:
- lib/dynamic-filter.ts: FilterConfig schema (search/select/multiselect/
boolean/date-range/status), FilterEngine with client-side apply,
derived options with counts, active-filter tracking, removal.
- lib/use-dynamic-filter.ts: filter state lives in ?f.<key> search
params — filtered views are shareable links. useFilterState exposes
URL state before data loads (server-backed filters); useDynamicFilter
adds the engine over fetched data.
- shared/components/FilterBar.tsx: renders a schema as compact controls
+ active-filter chips, matching design tokens.
- Applied: audit logs (server-backed — state in URL, params to API),
builds (server-backed + client date-range), activity (severity to the
server query, category/search on the fetched page).
- 8 unit tests for the engine.

* fix(filters): erasableSyntaxOnly compat + BuildStatus cast
- Constructor parameter properties are banned under erasableSyntaxOnly —
declare fields explicitly.
- listBuilds status param needs the BuildStatus type, not raw string.

* feat(notifications): producers round-out — backups, agent health, scans, upgrades
Four new emitters behind insertUserNotification:
- Backups: createBackupProcess notifies the database owner on
completion (with size) and on failure (docker-down, snapshot error).
- Agent health: StartAgentHealthSweep marks agents offline after 3 min
without heartbeat and back online on recovery — admins notified on
each transition.
- Security scans: Scanner.OnScanComplete callback notifies the project
owner with critical/high/total counts + score; scans with findings
get a distinct title.
- Upgrades: daily check against the latest GitHub release; admins
notified once per new tag (deduped via app_settings). Version stamped
into the image via Dockerfile ARG + ldflags on tag builds; "dev"
disables the check.

POST /projects/:id/import-compose deploys a compose file straight into a
project — no template row required. Well-known DB images become managed
databases attached to the project network under their service name as DNS
alias; other services deploy in dependency order via deployTemplateGraph.
- api: extract composeToSpecs converter (shared by the template
import-compose preview and the new project endpoint); fix dropped env
warnings (pointer receiver); replace insertion sort with sort.Strings
- cascade: database_services.project_id links graph-provisioned DBs to
their project so project delete tears down runtime + row (previously
leaked container + network)
- cli: new `containr import` group, `import compose <project> <file|->`
- mcp: containr_projects_import_compose tool
- openapi + regenerated frontend types; docs snapshot + CLI.md
- frontend: compose import modal on the project workspace toolbar
- tests: composeToSpecs conversion, ordering, db-image map, warnings
Config v2 adds services[] to TemplateConfig: members declare key, type
(web|worker|cron|database), runtime, environment, volumes and depends_on.
Deploy topo-sorts the graph, creates databases first (managed DBs attached
to the project network under their key as DNS alias), then services with
resolved env, and enqueues a real deployment per service.
Expressions: {{secret}}, {{secret(N)}}, {{random:N}}, {{VAR}},
{{VAR:-default}} and {{service.<key>.<prop>}} with props host, port, url,
user, password, database. Credential-bearing refs (password/url) mark the
consuming variable secret — stored encrypted, masked in plan output.
Single-service template secret vars are now encrypted at rest too.
New endpoints: POST /templates/:id/plan (dry-resolve with missing/
unresolved reporting), POST /templates/import/compose (compose YAML →
v2 config; known db images become managed databases, build: flagged in
warnings), POST /templates/deploy (ad-hoc graph deploy — the compose
import companion).
Surfaces: CLI gains templates plan/import-compose/deploy-graph plus
--name/--var on deploy; 3 new MCP tools (88 total); OpenAPI + generated
frontend types; TemplatesPage shows stack members, deploys graphs without
a name field, renders the created resource list, and ships an
Import Compose modal feeding the template editor.
Seeded: WordPress + MySQL and n8n + PostgreSQL graph templates.
Partial-failure cleanup: resources created by a failed graph deploy are
removed (rows, containers, volumes).
Verified live: wordpress-stack deploy created a managed MySQL attached to
the project network as `db`; an inline pg+redis+nginx graph deployed with
DATABASE_URL=postgresql://app:<gen>@pg:5432/shop resolvable in-container.

Phase D3. Managed databases can ship backup archives to a configured
S3-compatible destination (AWS S3, MinIO, Garage, …) while the local
copy remains intact.
- backup_targets table: owner-scoped endpoint/bucket/region/prefix +
encrypted access/secret keys (enc:v1:, never returned, has_credentials)
- create/update probe bucket access before storing; empty keys on update
keep stored credentials; delete refused (409) while referenced
- databases.backup_target_id assigns a target; external DBs rejected
- backup pipeline uploads via a holder container over docker cp streams;
remote failure keeps the local archive (logged), row gets remote:true
- restore prefers the local archive; on a missing local copy it downloads
the remote object into the backup volume first
- holder containers must be started before archive ops — docker cp does
not resolve volume mounts on never-started (Created) containers, and
removing the source mid-stream stalls the reader without EOF
- CLI: backup-targets list|add|update|remove|test + databases update
--backup-target; MCP: 5 new tools; Settings UI card + per-database
target picker + offsite badge on backups; OpenAPI + llms.txt + CLI.md

Managed databases have always published their port on 127.0.0.1 only.
public_port opts into binding on all interfaces so the database is
reachable off-host. Toggling via PUT recreates the container — the
named data volume survives.
- create accepts public_port; PUT /databases/{id} toggles it
- external rows reject the flag (no container exists)
- CLI: databases create --public, databases update --public/--public=false
- MCP: databases_update tool; UI: create checkbox + per-row toggle

Databases hosted outside Containr can now be registered alongside
managed ones. The connection is probed before storing (protocol-level
for postgres/redis-family via real drivers, TCP dial for the rest),
credentials are encrypted at rest and never returned, and external rows
skip managed lifecycle actions, backups, and Docker metrics.
- POST /databases/register-external — probe + create
- POST /databases/test-connection — ad-hoc probe (ok/latency_ms/error)
- POST /databases/{id}/test-connection — re-probe stored credentials
- provider/external fields on database services; privileged reads get a
composed connection URL with loopback hosts rewritten to the caller's
- CLI: databases register + test-connection; MCP: 3 new tools
- UI: managed/external toggle in the create modal, external badge and
host display, per-row test button, backups section hidden
- Migration widens the plan CHECK to admit 'external'

* fix: e2e QA hardening — honest runtime URLs, health, and read-only anon UI
Backend:
- managed DB provisioning: attach DB containers to the platform network and
probe the container IP, fixing the 127.0.0.1 reachability failure inside
the backend container; log provisioning failures
- stop fabricating connection URLs when provisioning produced none
- template deploys now carry port + health_check into service runtime fields
- service health probed over the project network (backend joins it) instead
of an in-container wget that fails on shell-less images
- runtime/public/connection URLs rewrite loopback to the request Host so
links are usable for LAN/remote clients
Frontend:
- service Networking panel shows real runtime URLs/ports/health instead of
hardcoded containr.dev + 8080->443
- anonymous views hide all mutation controls (new project, add service,
group, context menu)
- project cards: remove decorative svcN labels; badge says DOWN only when
zero services run, IDLE when empty, DEGRADED for partial
- mobile projects header no longer clips (fluid search width)
- unknown routes render a not-found page instead of silently redirecting

* fix: telemetry scope label, chunk split, remove stale vite artifacts
- /system/host now reports scope=host|docker-desktop-vm and the daemon OS;
Projects dashboard labels cards VM.* when the daemon is a Desktop VM so
memory/core numbers aren't mistaken for physical host values
- manualChunks: split @xyflow/react and recharts out of the main bundle;
removes the >1MB chunk warning
- drop tracked vite.config.js/.d.ts build artifacts that shadowed the real
vite.config.ts

* fix: persist service host port; demo-data scope for telemetry
Public URLs were ephemeral: every restart/redeploy rebound a random host
port, so endpoint links rotted. Persist published_port on the service and
prefer it for replica 0 on create. If the port is taken, fall back to
ephemeral and repersist the new assignment. Post-start the binding is
verified — Docker Desktop accepts a conflicting publish silently, which
previously left services running with no endpoint at all.
demo-data.ts gains the required scope field for HostMonitoring (CI fix).

Adds scaling_policies table and wires the autoscaler: upsert on every
SetScalingPolicy (including delete-as-disable), LoadPolicies hydrates
policies + service states at boot. Persist failures are logged, never
fatal — in-memory state stays authoritative.
Verified live: policy written on POST, survives a full backend restart,
service state re-registers at min_replicas. Also gofmt-fixes the
drifted databases.go struct tags.

- GET /databases/:id/backups/:bid/download streams the archive out of the
containr-db-backups volume via a stopped utility container and
CopyFromContainer; daemon logs sanitize non-UTF-8 so binary through
container logs was not viable. Verified e2e: byte-identical payload,
404 missing/cross-user, 401 unauthenticated.
- Settings Git Providers gains an Install GitHub App action that opens the
install_url and completes the installation_id return via connect endpoint.
- ROADMAP: mark both items done with verification evidence.
